Dr. William “Kip” Schumacher is the Founder and now Executive Chairman of SCP-Health (formerly Schumacher Group) established in 1994.

In his professional career, he has been honored as a Hero in Emergency Medicine by the American College of Emergency Medicine and was a 2011 National finalist in the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. He grew his company from a footprint of working in one small regional hospital Emergency Department to having contracts throughout the United States with over 400+ hospitals that provide services to 9 million patients a year.

 

His wife, Carolyn, is the owner and Managing Partner of Provisions Energy and Marine, a foodservice distribution company to the oil and gas sector servicing the Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi Gulf Coast area. Caroly has received numerous awards for her entrepreneurship, philanthropic endeavors, civic involvement, and community leadership. She is also an avid supporter of the Arts and Culture in Louisiana.

In 2018, Kip and Carolyn founded the William C. Schumacher Family Foundation, focusing primarily on supporting and improving Louisiana’s education system and secondly, responding to geographical needs in times of natural disasters. The Foundation’s early efforts included funding vocational schools throughout India through the Pratham Education Foundation, as well as partnering with Steven Covey’s Leader in Me national program. He is a co-founder and board president of Love Our Schools in support of schools in Lafayette Parish.

Carolyn and Kip have seven children and are avid hunters, antique collectors, and travelers.
